The Azienda Agricola Comparini, of which Villa Poggimele is part of, is made of 150 hectares.
Vineyards occupy 11 hectars and are located on hilly, calcareous grounds at an altitude of about 80 mt. on the sea level.
The most present variety of grapes is the Sangiovese together with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vineyards, mostly recently renewed, have a density of 4500 plants per hectare.
The olive-groves, from wich the Poggimele oil is made, have an extension of about 6 hectares made by different varieties like Frantoio and Moraiolo , extraordinary for its softness.
The wines tradition of the Azienda Agricola Comparini dates back to the beginning of '900.
Lorenzo Genesio together with the oenologist Stefano Blasi, takes care of the whole stages of the production from the vineyards to the cellar, offering a limited selection of high quality wine bottles, made in respect of the tradition.
